Misdemeanors are less serious offenses that are normally punishable by a fine but also carry with them the possibility of up to 93 days in jail (the county jail).
Most often, these matters are resolved thru negotiations with the police and prosecutor. However, we are trial lawyers who prepare even misdemeanors for trial. Our focus is always on a dismissal or a "not guilty" at a trial.
Felonies, on the other hand, are more serious offenses. Felonies potentially carry a minimum sentence of two years in prison.
Felonies are rarely reduced to misdemeanors, however, thru our trial experience and trial preparation, we are sometimes able to get reductions in the charges and better sentence agreements.
